The C50 is the close cousin of our T55 and that’s a good thing. The C50 has a very similar shape and height to the T55 so it shares many of the same characteristics that make the T55 such a fantastic wheelset. The big advantage is that they are clinchers meaning that changing tubes and tyres is easier and you’ll only need one set of wheels for both training and racing.
At 50 mm deep, this wheel is tall enough to give you a big aerodynamic boost over standard wheels, but short enough to keep the weight low so you can climb like you’re running a set of low-profile alloy wheels. The 50 mm height won’t pose a problem when winds kick up because the shape of these wheels keep you stable in crosswinds.
To keep your speed up when climbing, we use our minimalist Arsenal hub to further reduce the overall weight. These hubs aren’t all about weight savings though as they were specifically designed to accommodate our Diametric Spoke Pattern that increases stiffness and durability. The latter is especially helpful on a set of clinchers so they can be used on a daily basis.
You've beaten the hill and now it's time to descend so it’s important that the braking surface is able to dissipate heat and improve stopping distances. We treat all our carbon fibre clincher wheelsets with Tgx that allows for better heat dissipation.
