Sometimes you need to think a little differently and that’s what we did when we were designing the C45. Most designers only care about how aerodynamic a wheel is but we wanted something that did more than this. Sure, we wanted an aerodynamic wheel, but we also wanted a wheel that was stiff and strong enough to take on roads that aren’t as smooth as glass. This wheelset is ready to take on the racecourse, the gravel road and everything in between.
At 45mm deep and 25mm wide, this wheel checks all the speed boxes. The height of the rim allows this wheel to slice through the air while the width gives you more room to run wider tyres making the ride more comfortable on rough roads. The shape of the rim also makes it very strong and extremely stiff so it is responsive under power from even the biggest riders. The Diametric Spoke Pattern helps to give the rim even more support and snappiness so when you’re out of the saddle and hammering, the C45 will stay stiff and propel you forward.
The C45 is built around the Hero hub, which has tall flanges and oversized ceramic TBT bearings. The shape of the Hero hub allows us to build a durable wheel while the bearings give this wheelset a smooth ride with low rolling resistance. But it isn’t all function – we packed all this function into a beautiful shell that compliments the looks of the rim.
If you’re looking for a carbon fibre wheel that’s a little different, both in style and function then you’ll find it all in the C45 wheelset. This beast isn’t all about performance in races – it excels in a wide variety of conditions making this a great all-round wheelset that can be used any day of the year.
Token C45 Review

For a while I had been looking for a robust Carbon wheel for multiple use, training, racing and special events.
What attracted me to the Token C45 was the profile of the rim, the look and shape of the rim gave me confidence in what Token spoke about.

My first ride brought great excitement, compared to my other performance based carbon wheels, the C45 had the same pick up and liveliness under acceleration. Comparably stiffer than any Carbon wheel I have ridden especially under my New Zealand built 80kg body. The big difference came from the road noise; how could a carbon wheel feel this comfortable and forgiving while being that quick?
The new shape paired with my 23c tires, running at 80 psi gave me such a comfortable ride I was forced to put them to test. Where I live, we have many unsealed roads that offer excellent riding. Today I turned left and took the scenic gravel route home to give these C45 a descent nudge. Big climbs, harsh gravel descents, typical NZ pot holes and one happy rider. WOW! Braking was unreal, having the super stiff rim allowed me to grab my brakes if I were using an alloy rim. If I were going gravel all day long, the only thing I would change would be to replace with 25c tires for traction on those fast descents.
I love riding for what riding is, whatever the route throws my way I like to make the most of each day and adventure is what keeps me going. The C45 allows this, allows unrestricted riding while looking dam good.
Thanks, Token, you have filled a big cap in the market and got the locals turning their heads..
