At first glance you can see that this hub is different to anything else on the market, but this is a case of form following function. We started by moving the hub flanges as far out from the centre as possible for maximum stiffness and strength. With the flanges so far apart, the spoke tension is more balanced and this means the wheel is stronger. We then increased the height of the flanges so we could increase the strength and stiffness of the wheel even more.
Since durability is a key feature of this hub, we use oversize bearings to maximise strength and reduce rolling resistance. The bearings are spaced across the hub to evenly support the weight of the rider. With the bearings supporting weight evenly, they wear evenly so the bearings last longer. This means less time spent servicing parts and more time on the road, which is where we all want to be.
Because of the extra material we added for stiffness and durability, this isn’t our lightest hub though it’s arguably our best looking hub. If you are looking for a hubset that will stand up to strong legs and tough conditions then look no further.
